Linoleum, LVT such as Karndean & Amtico, vinyl and safety floors such as Altro are all resilient floor options and like any floor option they need professional maintenance to keep them looking their best and last longer.

The main difference is Linoleum is made from natural materials and is biodegradable whereas Vinyl is made from PVC.

Linoleum if properly maintained can last up to 40 years! Being made from natural materials it is porous so should be sealed 1-2 times per year to give it adequate protection for day to day use. It isn’t suitable for wet environments so shouldn’t be installed in bathrooms or toilets and isn’t suitable for pet stains either. Linoleum must be cared for with the correct products, cleaning products with a high pH can fade the natural colours and cause yellowing.

After deep cleaning Linoleum we can apply a seal to repel soils and grease and help further reduce scratching

Altro Safety flooring offers excellent slip resistance and is incredibly hard wearing making it ideal for wet rooms, food preparation areas and commercial buildings. With the abrasive texture if can be harder to maintain so a professional deep clean periodically is important to maintain the appearance and remove any build up of soils, cleaning products and limescale

Our deep cleaning methods are very similar for both Linoleum and Vinyl. A cleaning solution is applied and allowed to dwell to loosen debris and break down soils. It will then be worked into the surface and agitated before being rinsed with high pressure hot water to remove all contaminants and solution

After deep cleaning Vinyl and LVT we can apply a shield to repel soils and grease and help further reduce scratching
