1A Acclaim Carpet Cleaners was established in 1975 by Terry Barnes shortly after leaving the Royal Air Force and has remained a family run business for over 40 years. Terry worked long and hard days and sometimes nights, building the reputation and experience into the company.

Carpet cleaning was a relatively new service back in 1975 so customers were few and hard to find. Gradually Terry discovered the best products and machines to use. Having the right equipment was critical which is why 1A Acclaim continually invest in the most powerful truck-mounted machines available. This has been a major factor in our success along with his superior knowledge and attitude to always surpass everybody’s expectations.

All this knowledge and expertise has been passed down to Jon and Justin along with up to date training of new methods and techniques. During this time we have seen a lot of companies come and go as they have missed an important factor to success, putting the customer first and ensuring expectations have been met. We want to build a relationship so our customers know they can rely on us every time. After all happy customers’ return again and again!

All the work that goes on behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly is taken care of by Sophy. Sophy works hard to make sure all customers needs are taken care of and they are kept informed all throughout the process from enquiry through to customer call backs ensuring everything has gone smoothly and expectations have been met.

Our work has varied over the past 45 years and we have been fortunate enough to see some great sites. These have varied from Luxury Yachts to Navy Ships. Churches, Cathedrals and even the odd castle down to regular cleaning contracts such as the Post Office and House of Fraser! As well as prestigious developments and grand houses. We also clean many shops, offices, care homes & schools among others.
